Soihtu Exhibitions Centre, Seminaarinmäki, S-building, Seminaarinkatu 15, Jyväskylä

Opening hours:

Wed-Fri 12 am-5 pm

Sat 12 am – 4 pm

Exhibitions centre provides you an introduction to the history of the University of Jyväskylä and its predecessors. The permanent exhibition gives you knowledge of the cultural-history continuum of the University of Jyväskylä. You can also find there an art collection donated by lawyer Jorma Tissari. The collection represents Finnish mordernism of the 13 different artists of the 1900s.

Jyväskylä University Botanical Garden

With a map below you can walk through University Botanical Garden at any time you want. The route is about a 1 kilometer long and takes about 30 to 45 minutes depending on your walking speed. During the route you get to know little more about the first Finnish-language teacher training college grounds, plants and history.

Natural History Museum

Vesilinna, Ihantolantie 5, Jyväskylä

Opening hours:

Tue-Fri 12 am – 6 pm

Sat-Sun 12 am – 5 pm.

Permanent exhibition “Environment as a heritage” displays the diversity of nature in Central Finland. Themes of the exhibition are predators, winter nature, drainage systems and forest and swamp nature. In the changing exhibitions room is “Researcher’s chamber 2.0” self-operated workshop.
